The nanopublication template ontology describes how a publishing form is built: which statements a nanopublication has, and which parts of them the author fills in.

A placeholder can declare a datatype, and one declared rdf:HTML holds formatted text such as this description:

• it is rendered as HTML, not shown as a quoted string;
• it is written with a rich-text editor rather than typed as markup;
• it is sanitized, so scripting never enters the assertion.

This nanopublication is an example of that datatype in use.
