In Logroño (Spain), the residents at pluvial flood risk in the most socially vulnerable fifth have about a quarter of the land that could be greened near their homes that those in the least vulnerable fifth have: on average 4 to 6 % of the land within 100 m of their buildings against 17 to 20 %. This holds in all 42 comparisons with the current green cover (3 climates, 7 return periods, 2 risk indices), each significant, and in all 492 comparisons across 50, 100 and 200 m and every REACHOUT land cover. The finding is descriptive: within each vulnerability group, residents with more land that could be greened were not consistently the ones that city-wide greening takes out of risk, so it does not explain why greening helps the most vulnerable least. It matters for adaptation planning: near the homes of the most vulnerable residents at risk there is little room for greening, so protecting them will likely depend on other measures. https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/logrono-vulnerable-room-to-green-outcome https://w3id.org/sciencelive/o/terms/hasConfidenceLevel https://w3id.org/sciencelive/o/terms/HighConfidence https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/logrono-vulnerable-room-to-green-outcome https://w3id.org/sciencelive/o/terms/hasEvidenceDescription Current green cover, 100 m, resident-weighted mean share of land that could be greened: least vulnerable fifth 17.2 to 19.6 %, most vulnerable fifth 3.8 to 5.7 % over all 42 comparisons; e.g. 100-year storm with present rainfall, risk to well-being 19.2 % (9,050 residents in 107 buildings) against 4.7 % (3,733 residents in 93 buildings), risk to mobility 17.4 % (12,946 residents, 177 buildings) against 3.9 % (5,887 residents, 170 buildings). Less in 42 of 42 comparisons, all with one-sided permutation p <= 0.0002 (10,000 permutations); significantly more in none. Radius: 50 m 11.4 to 14.3 % against 2.7 to 3.7 %; 200 m 23.8 to 26.1 % against 5.1 to 6.7 %. All 492 comparisons across radii and land covers in the same direction (largest p = 0.046). All 4,540 assessed buildings matched in the Cadastre; the measure equals the analysis release's own to rounding error. Context (not part of the finding): among residents at risk with the current cover, those that city-wide greening takes out of risk had more land that could be greened than those who remain in 0 of 20 cases for the least vulnerable fifth and 9 of 20 for the most vulnerable (results/room_vs_taken_out.csv). The finding is descriptive and says nothing about whether greening that land would reduce flood risk. Social vulnerability comes from census-section rates, so all buildings of a section share one value, and it was not validated against impact data. Residents at risk come from REACHOUT's fill-and-spill flood model without sewers and are fixed at 2021; 157 buildings near the edge of the modelled area (1,851 residents) are left out. Many comparisons are made and they overlap, so individual p-values are not adjusted; the finding rests on the direction holding in every comparison. https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/logrono-vulnerable-room-to-green-outcome https://w3id.org/sciencelive/o/terms/hasOutcomeRepository https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23302695 https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/logrono-vulnerable-room-to-green-outcome https://w3id.org/sciencelive/o/terms/hasValidationStatus https://w3id.org/sciencelive/o/terms/Validated https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/logrono-vulnerable-room-to-green-outcome https://w3id.org/sciencelive/o/terms/isOutcomeOf https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAcqLPUi3Ya8lasOmwHO9OZGk6FuuNVN7TFSj1lJkyWco https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/provenance https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/assertion http://www.w3.org/ns/prov#wasAttributedTo https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1784-2920 https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/pubinfo https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1784-2920 http://xmlns.com/foaf/0.1/name Anne Fouilloux https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg http://purl.org/dc/terms/created 2026-10-11T18:30:26.960Z https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg http://purl.org/dc/terms/creator https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1784-2920 https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg http://purl.org/dc/terms/license https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg http://purl.org/nanopub/x/introduces https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/logrono-vulnerable-room-to-green-outcome https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg http://purl.org/nanopub/x/wasCreatedAt https://platform.sciencelive4all.org https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#label The most socially vulnerable residents at pluvial flood risk in Logroño have less room to green near their homes https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg https://w3id.org/np/o/ntemplate/wasCreatedFromTemplate https://w3id.org/np/RA2zljn0Nw9SadppOyxZoh-_Rxosslrq-vYG-p9SttnJE https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/sig http://purl.org/nanopub/x/hasAlgorithm RSA https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/sig http://purl.org/nanopub/x/hasPublicKey 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 https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/sig http://purl.org/nanopub/x/hasSignature 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 https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/sig http://purl.org/nanopub/x/hasSignatureTarget https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg https://w3id.org/sciencelive/np/RAqR5hOKuB3vur8eG39w_lsCsx_I0VEnf9YIsfNnxRmMg/sig http://purl.org/nanopub/x/signedBy https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1784-2920
